Flight Hours: December 2011

Post  acf492 on Fri Jan 06, 2012 5:00 am

Hello Intercontinental pilots!

First off, I'd like to wish you a happy new year! With 2011 at an end, I am pleased to announce that YSFHQ has established a manual logging system for virtual airlines.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?hl=en_US&pli=1&formkey=dDJaS2hCbHBOSk5YZW9RRXhyU1d3U2c6MQ#gid=0

This system is appropriate for single flight time reports, so it won't work for the end-of-month totals collected from last year. You can start entering your hours in this form after each flight, for January 2012. Rather then having to go back and enter all your flights for december, just post your total in this thread.

You will notice that the new system asks for a lot more information then just time. Please be patient and fill it out. If you want to enter the Intercontinental route numbers instead of airport names, feel free to do so as it will save you time. Just make sure you use the correct route numbers for your trip.

Please continue to keep your own notes, just in case this new system crashes. Hopefully December will be the last month for needing to calculate your own totals. Once the admins at YSFHQ give me access to the database, I will be able to retrieve the totals for all pilots, as the adding-up will be done automatically. Yay!

Happy Flying!

strike and escort? I only count flights in airliners and escort flights. Should i count ground attack practice or dogfights?

I think I answered that one somewhere already... Basically, the old ("marc-jean") system tracked pilots by their online time only, not by the type of aircraft. So that means that the old VA pilots were getting time for anything they did while on a YSPS-enabled server.

That said, while you may include military flight time in your hours, if it seems that ALL your hours come from military flights, perhaps it is time to put in some airline flights to back up all those extra hours?

As for me, I do separate my military time, because I want to. That's just my choice.

Btw, Dec was slow, I was only 13.4 hours.
